Description

The Lagoon nebula shot with the FSQ85 from a Bortle 1 site at Mt Mulligan Australia.  This is a crop of a larger image as the Tak 85 is only a 450mm scope.

Even though I can actually image this target from home, at my imaging site it passed directly overhead where at home it never climbs above 40 degrees so I would struggle to get as much detail from my humid Bortle 7 skies.  Given the perfect conditions, I chose to spend some of my limited available time on this target.   This is a crop of less than 25% of the total image which illustrates just how good this data was.

I tried to get away from a standard SHO pallet to really bring out the blues from the washed out center.  It took very creative stretching and lots of trial and error.  I still feel like I can do more with it but my skills need to catch up.
